New Year’s Eve closes early
Like Christmas Eve a week before it, December 31 is a shortened day. Most warehouses lock up at about 5:00 PM instead of the usual 8:30 PM. If the party plan depends on a Costco run for shrimp platters, sparkling wine or that last case of soda, it has to happen before late afternoon.
The days between Christmas and New Year are also peak returns season, so the membership desk line is at its annual longest. If you are combining a return with party shopping, arrive at opening.
